Revised Wii U Gamepad

This isn't by any means a radical redesign. The buttons were given some color and the design was thinned out. The buttons were also pushed a little closer to the screen and the start and select buttons we're pushed up more to occupy space on the bottom right of the face buttons more. The screen pushed up so the top of the screen is about the same height as the area around the analog sticks. All these things make the sides of the screen and the start, select, tv, home, and power buttons more within reach without having to reposition you hand.

Having crunched the numbers, this should be 32.5% smaller than the current gamepad though I am bad at math  That's mostly in it's height with only a little bit of saving horizontally. The idea is that even that small difference in width will place your hands more directly under the battery and screen thus making it feel lighter.

After a lot of comparison swapping the 3DS XL and Wii U controller in my hand and then matching up what the size of a 3DS XL would be compare to this concept, I don't think this design would cramp your thumb after long periods of time using the D-pad as the 3DS XL does. The differences in spacing between the left analog + D-pad and right analog + ABXY is very very minor.
